Vashk jewelry is hand crafted by Fabian Ayala originally from Cali,
Colombia. The jewelry is made from a combination of sustainable materials such
as; seeds, coconut, wood, feathers, totumo (a thin wood from an indigenous Amazon
tree) bamboo, taugua nut (also known as “nature’s ivory” which comes from a
unique “tagua palm-tree) and other natural stones and precious pieces collected
from the ground of the lush Amazon rainforest. Favian’s intention is to share
his creative passion, love and talent threw his artwork allowing the world to bare
witness of his unique Colombian background.
In
Colombia, many craftsmen face a situation of ongoing civil war, violence and
widespread poverty that would be challenging to anyone. Through admirable resilience Fabian has
stayed true to his love for his craft and is proud to share it with you!
